Today, I am thrilled to share the complete step-by-step pattern for my signature Crochet Sunflower with Stem and Leaf. Designed with realistic textured seeds, vibrant petals, and a sturdy wired stem, this
project is as fun to make as it is gorgeous to display in a cute little vase.
The finished sunflower is about 10 inches high (including the stem). The final size may vary depending on the yarn and hook size used.

Materials Needed
- Milk Cotton 4 ply yarn:
- Yellow – 7 g
- Dark Brown – 5 g
- Green – 13 g
- 2.5 mm crochet hook.
- Fiberfill.
- Stitch markers.

- Wire (approx. 12 inches) for stem.
- Flower wire for leaf.

Start with green yarn.

Crocheting the Petals
Hold the brown flower center and the green sepals center body together. Attach yellow yarn passing the hook through both parts.
Round 1: (ch3, in same st: (1 dc, 1 tr), ch3 + picot st, in next st: (1 tr, 1 dc), then ch3, slst in next st) x12 (repeat the whole sequence 12 times).
Insert the wire into the flower body before finishing all petals.
Crocheting the Sepals (Optional)
Attach green yarn with a slst in a front loop of round 6 of the green area.
Round 1: (ch6. From the 2nd ch from hook: 3 sc in next st, 2 hdc in the next st, slst to the next 3 sts) x12. FO.
Crocheting the Leaf (Optional)
Start in green yarn.
ch15. From the 4th ch from the hook (hold the wire and crochet first
round):
Round 1: 2 tr in same st, 3 tr in the next three sts, 3 dc in the next three sts, 2 hdc in the next two sts, 2 sc in the next two sts, 3 sc in last ch, 2 sc in the next two sts, 2 hdc in the next two sts, 3 dc in the next three sts, 3 tr in the next three sts, 2 tr in next st, slst in first st, ch1 (27)

FO. Leave a tail for sewing.
Assembling
Wrap green yarn tightly around the wire stem. Attach the leaf to the center of the stem and continue wrapping the yarn down to cover all wire completely. Secure with a touch of hot glue if needed.
