My Crochet Journey
I started crocheting as a hobby on summer 2023. It started as a relaxing hobby and it quickly blossomed into a deep passion for designing and drafting amigurumi patterns. I love experimenting with different kind of stitches, textures, and details to create unique, high-quality crochet creatures that bring a smile to people. I received such a good feedback so I continued creating more and more amigurumi patterns and selling them through my Etsy shop (CrochetbysilviaS2). I try to bring more content constantly while I pursue my scientist career. I really hope you enjoy crocheting using my patterns. And yes, I’m the typical girl that crochet while watching a good series.
My scientist career
Nowadays I’m finishing my Biology career, through the Molecular Biology specialization. I spend hours per day at the lab, where I can feel myself (although I also love bioinformatics and just being on my computer!). I love science since I was a child, and I tried some different pathways until I discovered my heart was full in the biology career. I’ve achieved some accomplishments I’m proud for. I have participated in papers, got some first-class honours in molecular biology subjects, and I’m currently working on my final degree project.
Why Free Patterns?
After years selling on Etsy, I decided to offer my patterns for free in this blog. I created it to be accessible to everyone, to share a growing library of free crochet patterns, step-by-step tutorials, and tips with fellow makers around the world. To help support the blog and keep these patterns free for everyone, you will find helpful tool recommendations, carefully selected affiliate links, and occasional advertisements on the site.
